Student answer (Band 5.5)
The visitors for Ashdown Museum was increased significantly. However the people’s who visited Ashdown Museum before refurbishment experienced the ancient vibes. Moreover the peoples also have been enjoyed before the year of refurbishment. The number of Visitors before refurbishment were 74,000 and after refurbishment the numbers increased rapidly to 92,000. However the Year before refurbishment of Museum there were not too much visitor’s who gets very satisfied. The numbers of very satisfied was 15% and just satisfied were 30% but the main thing that the number of dissatisfied was 40%. Moreover very dissatisfied was just 10%. Now let’s move to the year after refurbishment of the Museum There was a great increment of visitor’s who gets satisfied 35% of them and just satisfied were 40% of them, there were just 15% of dissatisfied and 5%-5% of very dissatisfied and no response. In my point of view this chart shows us the real value of refurbishment

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response covers the main features of the data, including the visitor numbers and the satisfaction survey results. However, the analysis is somewhat superficial. For instance, while you mention the increase in visitor numbers, you do not effectively synthesize the relationship between the refurbishment and the shift in satisfaction levels. The inclusion of personal opinion ('In my point of view') is inappropriate for an Academic Task 1 report, which requires an objective summary of the data. To improve, focus on comparing the two periods more analytically rather than simply listing the percentages for each category.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The response is organized into a single block of text, which makes it difficult to follow. A successful report should be divided into clear paragraphs: an introduction, an overview of the main trends, and separate paragraphs for the specific data points. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'However', their usage is often repetitive or mechanically placed. The lack of paragraphing and the abrupt transitions between the visitor numbers and the survey results hinder the logical flow of the information provided.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic terms like 'increased' and 'satisfied'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'the people’s who visited' (incorrect pluralization) and 'great increment of visitor’s' (incorrect use of apostrophes). To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a wider range of vocabulary to describe trends, such as 'a significant rise', 'a substantial growth', or 'a marked improvement', and ensure that you use nouns and verbs correctly without unnecessary apostrophes.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('The visitors... was increased'), incorrect pluralization ('visitor’s' instead of 'visitors'), and awkward sentence structures ('the main thing that the number of dissatisfied was 40%'). The response relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and there is a lack of complex grammatical forms. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of apostrophes and run-on sentences. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for pluralization errors would significantly improve your score.
