Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the task by identifying the main trends in visitor numbers and satisfaction levels. However, the analysis is somewhat superficial. While you correctly identify that visitor numbers increased and satisfaction improved, the data presentation is inconsistent. For instance, you mention '74000' and '90000' for visitor numbers, but the prompt provided a table and charts where these figures should be clearly linked to the specific years. The comparison of satisfaction percentages is present but lacks precision in describing the shifts between categories. To improve, ensure you clearly label the two periods (e.g., 'before' and 'after') and provide a more structured overview of the data points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'In addition of' are used incorrectly, and the transition between sentences is sometimes abrupt. The logical progression is hindered by repetitive sentence structures and a lack of varied linking words. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider range of cohesive devices (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in contrast') to connect your ideas more fluidly and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, relying heavily on basic terms like 'increase' and 'decrease'. There are several errors in word choice and form, such as 'very satisficed' instead of 'satisfied' and 'decrees' instead of 'decreased'. The range of vocabulary is just adequate to convey the basic meaning of the task, but it lacks the precision and variety expected for higher bands. To improve, try to incorporate more descriptive verbs and adjectives related to data trends, such as 'rose significantly', 'declined', 'remained stable', or 'a substantial proportion'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'number of visitors are increase') and tense usage (e.g., 'visitors visit to'). The sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at more complex sentences often result in errors. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some sentences starting with lowercase letters or lacking proper structure. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring that your subjects and verbs agree and that you are using the correct tense for reporting past data.
