Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response covers the main features of the data, including the overall trend of increased satisfaction. However, the report is somewhat disjointed because the data is presented in a fragmented way rather than as a cohesive summary. While you identified the key changes (e.g., very satisfied increasing from 15% to 35%), the description of the 'before' and 'after' data is repetitive. To improve, focus on grouping the data more logically—for instance, by comparing the 'satisfied' categories together rather than jumping between different satisfaction levels in separate paragraphs. Ensure all data points are accurately transcribed, as there are minor inconsistencies in the figures cited.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally inaccurate. For example, the transition 'As it can be seen' is slightly unnatural, and the use of 'Whereas' at the start of a sentence is grammatically awkward in this context. The progression of ideas is sometimes interrupted by short, choppy sentences, such as the paragraph regarding the 5% non-respondents. Using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that sentences flow more naturally into one another would improve the overall coherence of the report.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey the main trends. You use some relevant terms like 'renovation', 'percentage', and 'satisfied'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'before to be refurnished' and 'very satisfaction'. Additionally, there are spelling errors like 'bothe', 'showes', and 'refurnushed'. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and ensure that you are using the correct word forms (e.g., using 'satisfaction' as a noun rather than an adjective).

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of the text. Issues include incorrect verb tenses (e.g., 'have been dissatisfied' instead of 'were dissatisfied'), missing articles, and awkward prepositional usage. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas and periods. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors limits the score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage when describing past data will help improve your accuracy.
