Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have successfully identified the main trends, such as the increase in visitor numbers and the shift in satisfaction levels. However, the report lacks a clear overview or summary of the most significant changes. While you mention the 20k increase, the comparison between the two years could be more analytical. For instance, you describe the data sequentially rather than grouping it by category to highlight the contrast in satisfaction. To improve, ensure you provide a clear 'overview' paragraph that synthesizes the data rather than just listing figures. Some data points, such as the 'no response' category, are mentioned but not fully integrated into the comparative analysis.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The response is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the information. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive (e.g., 'followed by', 'the remaining'). The transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs is a bit abrupt. To reach a higher band, try to use a wider range of linking words and phrases to connect ideas more fluidly, such as 'In contrast,' 'Conversely,' or 'Furthermore.' Additionally, ensure that referencing is precise; for example, 'the survey before the refurbishment' is slightly ambiguous as it refers to the data provided in the charts.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey the main points clearly. You use some relevant terms like 'refurbished,' 'dissatisfied,' and 'survey.' However, there are instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'count have turned the tables' and 'due various reasons,' which are not natural in an academic context. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding informal idioms. Expanding your range of descriptive adjectives and adverbs would also help to better characterize the changes in the data.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('The visitors... has been steadily increased') and missing prepositions ('due various reasons'). Additionally, there are punctuation and phrasing errors, such as 'the least percentage of visitors where very dissatisfied.' While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to affect the overall flow. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage will significantly improve your score.
