Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have successfully identified the main features of the data, including the overall increase in visitor numbers and the shifts in satisfaction levels. You provided clear comparisons between the two periods, such as the rise in 'very satisfied' visitors and the decline in 'dissatisfied' ones. However, there is a factual error in your summary: you stated that 'dissatisfied people accounted for more than half' after the renovation, whereas the data shows this figure actually decreased to 15%. This misinterpretation of the data slightly impacts the accuracy of your reporting. To reach a higher band, ensure that all data points are transcribed and interpreted with absolute precision.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

Your response is logically organized, with a clear introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs that group information effectively. The progression of ideas is smooth, and you use a variety of cohesive devices such as 'Turning to', 'Meanwhile', and 'Conversely' to link your points. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the visitor numbers from the satisfaction survey results. The flow of information is easy to follow, and the relationship between the different parts of the data is clearly established throughout the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a good range of vocabulary, using terms like 'refurbishment', 'proportion', 'gratified', and 'witnessed a gradual decline'. This allows for a clear and precise description of the trends. There are occasional minor issues with collocation, such as 'the very dissatisfied figure', which sounds slightly unnatural. However, your vocabulary is sufficient to convey the meaning accurately and with some flexibility. To improve, focus on using more sophisticated collocations and ensuring that your word choices are contextually perfect.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures effectively, such as 'The total number of visitors... saw a noticeable increase... from 74,000 to 92,000'. Your control over grammar is generally strong, and most of your sentences are error-free. There are very few grammatical slips, and punctuation is handled well. The structure of your sentences is varied enough to maintain interest and clarity. The minor errors present do not impede communication, and your overall control of complex structures is commendable for this task.
