Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers all parts of the task by reporting the visitor numbers and the satisfaction survey results. You have successfully identified the main trends, such as the increase in visitor numbers and the shift from dissatisfaction to satisfaction post-refurbishment. However, the analysis is slightly hampered by some confusing phrasing, particularly when describing the survey data. For instance, the statement 'visitors customer were 30% which is double of very satisfied' is unclear and mathematically confusing. To reach a higher band, ensure that comparisons are stated with greater precision and that the data points are clearly linked to the specific categories provided in the charts.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs focusing on the table and the charts respectively. You have used some cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Lastly', and 'In addition'. However, the flow is occasionally disrupted by awkward transitions and some mechanical use of linking words. The referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the final paragraph where the connection between the visitor categories and the percentages is difficult to follow. Improving the variety and naturalness of your cohesive devices will help the progression of your ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the main points, using terms like 'refurbished', 'satisfaction level', and 'notable increment'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and awkward collocations, such as 'visitors number' instead of 'number of visitors', and 'visitors customer' which is redundant. There are also some minor errors in word formation, such as 'dissatisfaction was the most major outcome'. To improve, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensuring that your word choices are natural and appropriate for a formal report.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt to use complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, including issues with articles ('the give table', 'the ratio of dissatisfied'), subject-verb agreement ('visitors ratio increased', 'dissatisfied visitors decline'), and punctuation (unnecessary spaces before commas). These errors are noticeable and occasionally make the text harder to read, although they do not completely impede communication. To achieve a higher score, focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, particularly with pluralisation and verb tenses.
