Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the task achievement score. While you have identified the main trends—the increase in visitor numbers and the shift in satisfaction levels—the analysis is underdeveloped. You have omitted key data points from the charts, such as the 'Dissatisfied' or 'Very dissatisfied' categories, and the comparison of the survey results is confusing due to the unclear use of brackets and percentages. To improve, ensure you cover all data sets provided in the prompt and provide a more thorough comparison of the figures rather than just listing them.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes mechanical. For example, the transition 'Likewise' is used to introduce the survey data, but the connection between the sentences is weak. The referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as the mention of '(40)' and '(30)' without explicitly stating these represent percentages. To improve, use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that every figure mentioned is clearly contextualized so the reader does not have to guess what the numbers represent.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision required for a higher band. You rely on basic verbs like 'depicts', 'increased', and 'remained'. There are also some awkward phrasings, such as 'after five years it was renovated', which is factually confusing compared to the prompt. The use of 'no response' is accurate, but the overall range is limited. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to data description, such as 'witnessed a surge', 'fluctuated', or 'remained constant', and ensure your terminology is precise.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

There are several grammatical errors that hinder the flow of the text. You have issues with subject-verb agreement ('the number of visitors were increased') and article usage ('the the number'). Additionally, there are punctuation errors, such as the unnecessary comma after 'While' and the lack of spacing in 'the the'. The sentence structures are relatively simple, and the attempt at complex sentences is often marred by these errors. To improve, focus on basic accuracy, particularly subject-verb agreement and article usage, and practice combining simple sentences into more complex, error-free structures.
