Student answer (Band 5.0)
this table shows the number of visitor before and after the refurbishment. this is the data of Ashdown museum. in the data given a total number of visitors in Ashdown museum. during the year before refurbishment 74,000 peoples visits in museum. that means museum is very popular so after refurbishment peoples are increase to 74,000 to increase 92,000. so I can easily say that after refurbishment museum became more attractive for peoples. and in data give a graph of visitors satisfaction rate. means after visiting museum how much visitor satisfied so in this data i saw that very few visitors didn`t gave response before the refurbishment. 5 percentage of visitors give no response before. and 15% of peoples are very satisfied and 30% of visitors are satisfied and 40% of visitors not satisfied and then 10% of visitors are vey disappointed with museum. we also have after graph of refurbishment in this data 5% visitors gave no response and very satisfaction rate are increase 15% to 35%. and 30% people are satisfied before so this increase to 30% to 40%. and after 15% of people disappoint and 5% of visitors very disappoint with museum.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the main features of the table and charts, such as the increase in visitor numbers and the shift in satisfaction levels. However, the report lacks a clear overview or summary of the trends, which is essential for Task 1. The description of the data is somewhat mechanical, simply listing figures rather than synthesizing the information to make meaningful comparisons. For instance, while you mention the rise in visitor numbers, you do not effectively contrast the 'before' and 'after' satisfaction categories in a structured way. To improve, ensure you include an introductory overview and group related data points to highlight the most significant changes.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response is written as a single, dense paragraph, which makes it difficult to follow. There is a lack of paragraphing to separate the visitor numbers from the satisfaction survey data. Cohesive devices are either missing or used repetitively, such as the frequent use of 'in this data' and 'so'. The logical progression is hindered by the lack of transition words to guide the reader between the two different types of data presented. To reach a higher band, you should organize your report into clear paragraphs—one for the visitor numbers and one for the satisfaction survey—and use a wider variety of linking words.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, relying heavily on basic terms like 'data', 'visitors', and 'increase'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'peoples are increase' instead of 'visitor numbers increased' and 'very disappointed with museum' instead of 'very disappointed with the museum'. The phrasing is often informal and lacks the precision required for an academic report. To improve, try to incorporate more varied vocabulary related to data analysis, such as 'significant rise', 'proportion', 'fluctuated', or 'remained stable', and pay closer attention to pluralization and article usage.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement ('peoples visits', 'visitors give'), incorrect verb tenses, and missing articles ('in museum', 'with museum'). Sentence structures are predominantly simple, and there is a lack of complex sentence forms. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some sentences running on and others lacking proper capitalization. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring that subjects and verbs agree, and practicing the use of complex structures like relative clauses or passive voice to describe the data more formally.
