Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers all parts of the task by summarizing the visitor numbers and the satisfaction survey results. You successfully identified the main trends, such as the increase in total visitors and the shift toward higher satisfaction levels. However, the overview is slightly confusing; the phrase 'number of people who opted to report any followed similar trend' is unclear and does not accurately reflect the data provided in the charts. To improve, ensure your overview clearly highlights the most significant changes without using vague terminology. The data is generally accurate, but ensure that all comparisons are explicitly linked to the specific categories mentioned in the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is logically organized into an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. You use some cohesive devices such as 'However', 'Furthermore', and 'In addition to that' to link ideas. However, some transitions feel mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally imprecise, such as the mention of 'any' in the second paragraph. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the visitor numbers from the survey data. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider range of cohesive devices more naturally and ensure that the progression of ideas between sentences is smoother and less repetitive.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'refurbishment', 'dissatisfaction', and 'proportion'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'opted to report any' and 'chose to response none'. These errors do not impede communication but indicate a need for more precise usage. To improve, focus on learning the correct collocations for reporting data, such as 'respond to the survey' instead of 'response none'. Expanding your range of synonyms for 'increase' and 'decrease' would also help to avoid repetition.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, particularly with articles (e.g., 'number of visitors' instead of 'the number of visitors') and preposition usage (e.g., 'years to Ashdown Museum'). Additionally, there are minor punctuation and phrasing issues, such as the spacing before the period in '35% .'. While these errors are noticeable, they do not prevent the reader from understanding the information. To improve, pay closer attention to article usage and ensure subject-verb agreement is consistent throughout your writing.
