Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to address the task by summarizing the provided data. However, the information is presented in a fragmented and often inaccurate manner. For instance, the claim that the dissatisfied ratio was 'more as compared to satisfied by 10' is unclear and lacks precision. The description of the survey results is vague, using phrases like 'some percentage people' instead of reporting the actual figures from the charts. While the main features are identified, the lack of accurate data reporting and the failure to clearly compare the two periods significantly hinders the task achievement. The response lacks a clear overview of the trends, making it difficult for the reader to grasp the key findings.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is disjointed. Cohesive devices are used ineffectively or incorrectly, such as 'vis via' (presumably meant to be 'vice versa') and 'By with help of the surveys'. The transition between the table data and the chart data is abrupt, and the lack of logical flow between sentences makes the text difficult to follow. Referencing is often unclear, particularly when discussing the survey results, which leaves the reader confused about which data point is being referenced. The overall structure is mechanical rather than fluid.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and frequently inaccurate. There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'refurbished' used as a noun instead of 'refurbishment', 'inclined' used incorrectly to describe an increase, and 'significanted' instead of 'significant'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to convey the information with precision. The student relies on basic, repetitive language and struggles to use academic terminology appropriate for a data description task. These errors occasionally impede communication, as the reader must guess the intended meaning behind phrases like 'total opposite results show for very dissatisfied'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that affect the clarity of the writing. There are issues with sentence structure, such as 'The given data represented the visitors information of Ashdown Museum before and after the refurbished.' Additionally, there are errors in article usage, verb tense, and word formation (e.g., 'there was increased in the number'). The student attempts simple sentence structures, but even these contain errors. Complex structures are largely absent or incorrectly formed. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before punctuation marks, which detracts from the professional presentation of the report.
