Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response covers the main features of the data, including visitor numbers and satisfaction levels. However, the analysis is somewhat superficial. While you mention the increase in visitor numbers and the shift in satisfaction, you fail to report the 'very satisfied' or 'neutral' categories, which are key components of the charts. The summary lacks a clear overview of the most significant trends, and the reporting of data is occasionally imprecise (e.g., 'about 74000'). To improve, ensure you select and compare all key data points rather than focusing on only two categories, and provide a more comprehensive overview in the introduction.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The response is organized into three paragraphs, which is a standard structure. However, the logical progression is hindered by awkward phrasing and repetitive sentence starters. Cohesive devices are used, but they are sometimes mechanical or misused, such as 'which tends to drastic changes' and 'it is proved that'. The transition between the visitor numbers and the satisfaction survey results is abrupt. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'conversely', 'in contrast', 'furthermore') and ensure that each sentence flows naturally from the previous one to create a more cohesive narrative.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. There are several instances of awkward word choice and non-standard collocations, such as 'visitors satisfaction while visiting to', 'visitors were visited', and 'populater travel spot'. The term 'drastic changes' is used, but the context is slightly unclear. To achieve a higher score, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and correct collocations. Avoid repeating the same words and try to incorporate more sophisticated descriptors for trends and data points.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('satisfaction is marginally rose'), incorrect preposition usage ('visiting to'), and awkward phrasing ('the survey says that'). Punctuation is generally functional, but the sentence structure is often clunky. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and the correct use of passive voice, which is essential for describing data in Task 1. Proofreading for common errors like 'is/are' confusion will significantly improve your accuracy.
