Student answer (Band 6.0)
The table and two pie charts elucidates the number of visitors to Ashdown Museum During the year and after the year of refurbishment. The table illustrates the total number of visitors and the pie charts depicts the level of satisfaction after and before refurbishment.
Taking a general overview, the highest total visitors were during after the year of renovation. Visitors visiting the museum were dissatisfied in the year before the restoration and after the year of renovation, people were still not very satisfied.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response covers the main features of the data, including the increase in visitor numbers and the shift in satisfaction levels. However, the analysis is somewhat superficial. While you mention the total visitor numbers, the description of the satisfaction survey data is imprecise. For example, you state that 'the response of visitors was almost the same for very dissatisfied and very satisfied' without clearly referencing the specific percentages or numbers from the charts. To reach a higher band, you should provide more precise comparisons between the two years, such as noting the specific shift in the 'satisfied' category. The overview is present but lacks sufficient detail regarding the trends observed in the satisfaction categories.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. Cohesive devices such as 'In addition to that', 'Moving further', and 'Moreover' are used to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions feel slightly forced. The referencing is sometimes unclear; for instance, in the second body paragraph, the phrase 'still the visitor to the Ashdown Museum were not very satisfied' lacks a clear connection to the previous data points. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'refurbished', 'restoration', and 'surged'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation. For example, 'elucidates' is used incorrectly with a plural subject ('table and two pie charts'), and 'pellucid' is an overly formal and slightly unnatural choice for this context. Additionally, there are minor errors such as '74,00' (likely a typo for 74,000) and 'visitor' instead of 'visitors'. To improve, focus on using vocabulary that is natural and precise for describing statistical data.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('the table and two pie charts elucidates', 'the visitor... were not'), and awkward phrasing ('the highest total visitors were during after the year'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are inconsistencies in capitalization and number formatting. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage would significantly improve your accuracy.
