Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers the main features of the data, such as the increase in visitor numbers and the shift in satisfaction levels. However, the analysis is somewhat superficial. The student mentions '40 dissatisfied people' and '30 satisfied ones' without clarifying that these figures represent percentages, which is a significant misinterpretation of the data provided in the charts. Furthermore, the description of the survey results is slightly confusing and lacks a clear, comparative overview. To reach a higher band, the student should ensure accurate data interpretation and provide a more structured comparison between the two periods rather than simply listing isolated figures.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the logical progression is hindered by awkward phrasing and some repetitive sentence structures. While there are some cohesive devices used, such as 'According to the summary' and 'On the other hand', they are sometimes used mechanically or inappropriately. The transition between the table data and the chart data could be smoother. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear focus would significantly enhance the flow of the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'quantity of tourist' (should be 'number of tourists') and 'tear afterward' (a typo for 'year'). The student relies on basic descriptors like 'massive jump' and 'great number'. To improve, the student should focus on using more academic collocations and precise terminology related to data reporting, such as 'significant increase', 'proportion', and 'survey respondents'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'the year earlier and the tear afterward it was revamped' and 'there are 40 dissatisfied people with 30 satisfied ones' (incorrect tense usage). Subject-verb agreement and pluralisation issues, such as '74000 peoples', are also present. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and tense consistency would be beneficial.
