Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have successfully identified the main features of both the table and the pie charts, providing a clear comparison between the two periods. You correctly highlighted the increase in visitor numbers and the shift in satisfaction levels. However, the response lacks precision in reporting the data. For instance, you mention 'half of the people of 30% felt very satisfied,' which is mathematically confusing and does not accurately reflect the chart data. Additionally, some figures are slightly misstated or lack clarity. To improve, ensure that you accurately transcribe the percentages and numbers from the visuals and avoid ambiguous phrasing when describing proportions.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, body paragraphs for the table and charts, and a brief summary. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally awkward, such as 'Focusing on table' and 'Examining graphs,' which lack appropriate articles. The transition between sentences is sometimes abrupt, making the flow feel disjointed. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and phrases to connect your ideas more fluidly, and ensure that your referencing (e.g., 'the museum') is consistent throughout the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey the main points. You use some relevant terms like 'refurbishment,' 'proportion,' and 'satisfaction.' However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and awkward phrasing, such as 'no response was by 5% tourist' and 'categorise people represented.' There are also minor errors in word formation, such as 'tourist' instead of 'tourists.' To improve, work on using more precise collocations and ensure that your nouns and verbs agree in number. Expanding your range of descriptive adjectives and adverbs would also help to add nuance to your report.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly regarding articles (e.g., 'before and after renovation during the year' should be 'the year'), pluralisation (e.g., '74,000 tourist'), and preposition usage. Some sentences are grammatically incomplete or awkward, such as 'The second highest was the very satisfied category.' While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for article usage and subject-verb agreement will significantly improve your accuracy.
