Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response covers all parts of the task by reporting the visitor numbers and the survey results for both periods. You successfully identified the main trend of increased visitor numbers and the shift in satisfaction levels. However, the analysis is slightly hampered by minor inaccuracies in data reporting, such as the missing percentage for 'satisfied' in the post-refurbishment period and the awkward phrasing regarding the 'no response' category. To reach a higher band, ensure that all data points are clearly stated and that comparisons between the two periods are more explicitly linked to the overall trend.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, body paragraphs for data, and a summary. The use of cohesive devices like 'In contrast', 'Furthermore', and 'Overall' helps the flow of information. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the sentence 'While only no response and very dissatisfied marked to 5% and % respectively', which contains a grammatical gap and lacks clarity. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that every sentence flows naturally from the previous one would enhance the coherence of the response.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'redevelopment', 'refurbishment', 'accounted for', and 'soared'. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'highest dissatisfactory' (should be 'dissatisfaction') and 'majority proportion once registered for dissatisfied' (which is awkward and imprecise). While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the main points, it lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. Focusing on using more accurate nouns and adjectives to describe data trends will improve your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'survey of the visitors satisfactory level' (should be 'visitors' satisfaction level') and 'marked to 5% and % respectively' (missing data and awkward preposition use). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but there are instances of sentence fragments or awkward phrasing that detract from the overall accuracy. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions when describing statistical data.
