Student answer (Band 5.0)
The table depicts the numbers of visitors to Ashdown museum during the year before and after the year it was refurbished. And the pie charr illustrates the result of surveys asking visitors how they were with their visit, during the same periods.
over all we can see that the table consist the data of visitors visited the museum during the year before refurbishment and after refurbishment, Apart from that the pie charts represent the results of surveys of museum before and after renovation.
As we can see in table the number of tourists before renovation was 74,000 after that the museum got refurbished and the amount of visitors increased , because after getting renovated the museum got hyped and people used more often to visit.
Also the museum had taken feedback from the visitors which helped them to improve, as we can see the survey shows two different data's one is of before renovation and another one of after renovation, before renovation the people were dissatisfied and very dissatisfied when compared with satisfied and very satisfied visitors, and after renovation they got different ratings when compared with previous results were the amount of satisfied and very satisfied visitors is higher than dissatisfied visitors.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to address the task but fails to provide a clear, analytical summary. While it mentions the visitor numbers and survey results, it lacks specific data points (e.g., the exact number of visitors after refurbishment or the specific percentages from the pie charts). The description is overly general and relies on subjective language like 'the museum got hyped' rather than reporting the actual figures provided in the prompt. To improve, you must select key features and support them with accurate data from the charts, ensuring a clear comparison between the two periods rather than just stating that changes occurred.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical flow is weak. The introduction is repetitive, and the transition between the table and the pie charts is disjointed. Cohesive devices are used in a very basic or mechanical way, such as 'Also' and 'Apart from that', which do not effectively link ideas. The structure lacks a clear overview or a logical progression of information. To improve, focus on using a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'In contrast', 'Furthermore', 'Consequently') and ensure each paragraph has a clear, singular focus that contributes to the overall summary.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'data', 'numbers', and 'results'. There are issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'the museum got hyped' and 'the table consist the data of visitors visited'. These phrases are informal and inaccurate for an Academic Task 1 report. There is no attempt to use more precise vocabulary related to data trends or survey analysis. To achieve a higher score, you should incorporate more academic vocabulary, such as 'fluctuated', 'significant increase', 'proportion', and 'respondents'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('the table consist'), run-on sentences, and incorrect punctuation. The sentence structures are mostly simple or repetitive, with limited attempts at complex sentences. For example, 'before renovation the people were dissatisfied and very dissatisfied when compared with satisfied and very satisfied visitors' is a long, poorly structured sentence that lacks grammatical precision. Improving your control over basic sentence construction and punctuation is essential before attempting more complex structures.
