Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5
The response effectively addresses all parts of the task. You have clearly identified the main features, such as the increase in visitor numbers and the shift in satisfaction levels. The data is accurately reported, and the comparison between the two periods is well-integrated. You have successfully selected the key information from both the table and the charts, providing a clear overview and supporting details. The response is well-structured and covers all requirements for an Academic Task 1 report, demonstrating a clear understanding of the data provided.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5
The response is logically organized, with a clear introduction, an overview paragraph, and a detailed body paragraph. The progression of ideas is smooth, moving from the general trend to specific data points. Cohesive devices such as 'Overall', 'In contrast', 'Meanwhile', and 'compared with' are used effectively to link sentences and ideas. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the overview from the supporting data. The flow of information is natural, and the relationship between the different parts of the data is easy to follow throughout the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 7.0
You demonstrate a good range of vocabulary appropriate for a data-reporting task. Terms such as 'illustrates', 'proportion', 'renovation', and 'remained unchanged' are used accurately. The vocabulary is precise and fits the context well. While the range is sufficient to convey meaning clearly and with some sophistication, there is room to incorporate more varied or less common lexical items to reach the highest band. However, the current usage is natural and error-free, effectively supporting the communication of the data trends.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 7.5
The response displays a high level of grammatical control. You use a variety of sentence structures, including complex sentences, with a high degree of accuracy. Punctuation is used correctly, and there are no noticeable errors that impede communication. The majority of your sentences are error-free, and the control over tense usage (e.g., 'was', 'increased', 'remained') is consistent with the requirements of describing past data. The writing is fluent and demonstrates a solid command of English grammar.
