Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the task by identifying the main features of the table and charts. However, the analysis is quite superficial. While you mention the visitor numbers and the shift in satisfaction levels, the report lacks a clear, analytical comparison between the two periods. For example, you state the visitor numbers increased to 92,000, but you fail to mention the initial figure (74,000) for comparison. The overview is present but lacks clarity due to grammatical issues, making it difficult to follow the main trends. To improve, ensure you provide specific data points to support your observations and focus on comparing the 'before' and 'after' states more effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the logical progression of ideas is hindered by awkward phrasing and a lack of cohesive devices. Transitions like 'To begin with this' are used incorrectly, and the connection between sentences is often mechanical or unclear. Referencing is also problematic; for instance, the phrase 'the table show about' is repetitive and lacks precision. To improve, use a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'in contrast', 'furthermore') to connect your ideas more fluidly and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, often relying on basic terms like 'show', 'give', and 'review'. There are several instances of incorrect word choice and collocation, such as 'mostly 40% visitors review giving in the negative way'. These errors occasionally make the meaning slightly opaque. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise academic vocabulary related to data description (e.g., 'fluctuated', 'proportion', 'significant increase') and avoid repeating the same verbs. Expanding your range of synonyms and focusing on correct word forms will significantly improve your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that affect the readability of the text. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the table show', 'chart presented'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or lack the necessary complexity expected at higher levels. For example, 'mostly 40% visitors review giving in the negative way' is grammatically incorrect and confusing. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb tenses, and practicing the use of complex structures like relative clauses or passive voice, which are essential for describing data in an academic context.
