Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the score. Furthermore, the content is incomplete; it fails to provide a clear overview or a comprehensive summary of the data. The student merely lists a few figures without making meaningful comparisons or identifying the main trends, such as the increase in visitor numbers or the shift in satisfaction levels. The inclusion of the prompt instructions within the body of the text is inappropriate. To improve, you must ensure you cover all parts of the task, provide a clear summary of trends, and meet the length requirement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The response lacks a logical structure. There is no clear paragraphing, and the information is presented in a disjointed manner. The use of cohesive devices is almost non-existent, making it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of ideas. The text reads more like a list of fragmented notes rather than a coherent report. To improve, you should organize your response into an introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs that group related data together. Use linking words such as 'whereas', 'in contrast', or 'consequently' to connect your ideas more effectively.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary is very limited and often inaccurate. Phrases like 'depend the numbers' and 'equal two historical phase' are confusing and do not convey the intended meaning. There is a lack of academic vocabulary suitable for describing data, such as 'increased', 'decreased', 'proportion', or 'significant'. The word choice is repetitive and basic, which hinders the clarity of the report. You should focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to describing charts and tables, such as 'fluctuated', 'remained stable', or 'a substantial increase'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The grammar is weak, with frequent errors that impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('The Table under depend'), incorrect word forms ('rebuilding' instead of 'refurbishment'), and incomplete sentence structures. The response lacks complex sentence structures, relying on simple, often fragmented, sentences. Punctuation is also inconsistent. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring that every sentence has a clear subject and verb, and practice using complex structures like relative clauses or subordinating conjunctions to add variety to your writing.
