Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers the main features of the data, such as the increase in visitor numbers and the shift in satisfaction levels. However, the analysis is somewhat superficial and lacks precision. For example, stating 'the number of people rose... that is 92000' is unclear as it does not specify if this is the total or the increase. The comparison between the two periods is attempted, but the lack of accurate data reporting hinders the clarity of the summary. To improve, ensure that all figures are clearly linked to their respective categories and that the overview provides a more comprehensive summary of the trends observed in both the table and the charts.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as the repetitive use of 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand' to introduce sections that do not necessarily contrast in the way these phrases imply. Additionally, some sentences are disjointed, and the logical flow between ideas is occasionally interrupted by grammatical errors. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words would help the ideas progress more smoothly throughout the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and contains several spelling errors, such as 'CHATRS' for charts, 'DEPIC' for depict, 'SAITSFIED' for satisfied, and 'MUSUEM' for museum. There is also an issue with word choice, such as using 'rewind' instead of 'satisfied' and 'overhaul' in a context that is slightly unnatural. While the student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'renovation' and 'refurbishment', the frequent errors in spelling and word formation impede the overall quality of the writing. A wider range of vocabulary and more attention to accurate spelling are required for a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response relies on a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Examples include 'The table illustrate' (subject-verb agreement), 'travelers was not much satisfied' (subject-verb agreement and incorrect quantifier), and 'number pepole has rose' (incorrect verb form). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas. These errors are frequent and occasionally make the meaning difficult to follow. To improve, focus on basic subject-verb agreement, correct verb tenses, and consistent sentence construction.
