Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response covers the main features of the data, including the visitor numbers and the shift in satisfaction levels. You successfully identified the increase in visitor numbers and the positive trend in satisfaction post-refurbishment. However, the report lacks a clear comparison of the visitor numbers between the two years; you only provided the figure for the year after refurbishment (92,000) without mentioning the 74,000 from the year prior. Including this would have provided a more complete summary. Additionally, the overview is slightly repetitive in its phrasing. To improve, ensure all key data points are explicitly compared rather than just listed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized into an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. The progression of ideas is generally clear, moving from visitor numbers to satisfaction surveys. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'Due to which there was an improvement'. The transition between the overview and the body paragraphs could be smoother. While paragraphing is used appropriately, the internal cohesion within paragraphs could be strengthened by using a wider variety of linking words to connect the data points more fluidly.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'refurbishment', 'proportion', and 'revamp'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation. For example, 'very less people' is grammatically incorrect; 'far fewer people' or 'a significantly smaller number of people' would be more appropriate. Additionally, 'complete fulfillment' is a slightly unnatural collocation in this context; 'high levels of satisfaction' would be more precise. Expanding your range of descriptive adjectives and adverbs would help to convey the data with greater precision and sophistication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text. For instance, 'during both the periods' is awkward, and '35% of the crowd were very satisfied on how the museum turned out' contains a preposition error ('on' should be 'with'). There are also minor issues with article usage and subject-verb agreement. To reach a higher band, focus on ensuring that complex structures are used accurately and that prepositions are correctly paired with their respective verbs or adjectives.
