Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response identifies the main trends, such as the increase in visitor numbers and the shift in satisfaction levels. However, the reporting of data is often confusing and inaccurate. For instance, the statement 'the people are more dissatisfied before the survey at 40 as compared to after it had less dissatisfied in only 15' is difficult to follow and lacks precision. The comparison between the two periods is attempted, but the lack of clarity in data presentation hinders the reader's understanding. To improve, ensure that figures are clearly linked to their respective categories and that the comparison is structured logically rather than just listing numbers.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the internal structure is weak. The progression of ideas is often disjointed, and the use of cohesive devices is mechanical or misused. For example, the transition 'Consequently, the results had rose gradually' does not logically follow the preceding sentence about 'no response'. Referencing is also unclear; phrases like 'the results' are used repeatedly without specifying which data set is being referred to. The writing lacks a smooth flow, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison between the 'before' and 'after' periods effectively.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, relying heavily on basic terms like 'people', 'results', and 'before/after'. There are several instances of awkward word choice and incorrect collocations, such as 'the results had rose' (should be 'risen') and 'very dissatisfies'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to describe the data with precision. To reach a higher band, you should incorporate more varied and precise terminology related to data analysis, such as 'proportion', 'significant increase', 'fluctuation', and 'survey respondents', rather than repeating simple phrases.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with verb tense consistency (e.g., 'the results had rose'), subject-verb agreement, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or poorly constructed, such as 'The pie chart in which five different categories of the results showed of visitors satisfaction.' The use of complex structures is limited and often results in errors. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb forms, and using articles and prepositions accurately before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
