Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers the main features of the data, including the increase in visitor numbers and the shift in satisfaction levels. However, the reporting is somewhat disjointed, and the data points are not always presented with sufficient clarity. For example, the statement 'visitors number has rose' is grammatically incorrect and lacks precision. While the main trends are identified, the comparison between the two periods could be more effectively integrated. The response meets the requirement to summarize the information, but the lack of clear, accurate data reporting prevents it from reaching a higher band. The inclusion of specific figures is good, but the overall presentation of the data is inconsistent.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'whereas as illustrated' and 'as of 17,000'. The progression of ideas is sometimes hindered by awkward phrasing and poor sentence structure. While there is an attempt to use linking words like 'Furthermore' and 'However', they are not always used to create a smooth flow between sentences. The referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult to track the relationship between the visitor numbers and the satisfaction survey results.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and contains several errors in word choice and word formation. Examples include 'increasement' (instead of 'increase'), 'visitors visited' (redundant), and 'no affect' (should be 'no effect'). The range of vocabulary is sufficient to convey the basic meaning, but there is a lack of precision and flexibility. The student relies on repetitive phrasing, such as 'year before refurbishment', which limits the sophistication of the response. To improve, the student should focus on using more varied and accurate terminology related to data description, such as 'fluctuated', 'remained stable', or 'a significant rise'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the reader's understanding. There are issues with verb tenses ('has rose', 'had reduce'), subject-verb agreement, and sentence structure. Many sentences are poorly constructed, such as 'While pie charts show portions of survey held on satisfaction on people opinion on museum before renovations and after refurbishment', which is a sentence fragment. The range of structures is limited, and the errors are persistent throughout the text. While the meaning is generally discernible, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents a higher score.
