IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The table below shows the numbers of visitors to Ashdown Museum during the year before and the year after it was refurbished. The charts show the result of surveys asking visitors how satisfied they were with their visit, during the same two periods.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The data provided in the table shows the number of people who visited Ashdown Museum before and after the year it was renovated. Whereas, pie chart reveals the satisfactory level of people who visited during that period.

Number of people who visited the museum after renovation increased significantly. The number of visitors rose from 74,000 before renovation to 92,000 after renovation.

Before refurbishment of the museum, majority of visitors were dissatisfied, accounting for 40%. Moreover, 30% of visits by people was satisfactory. However, only 15% of the visits were reported very satisfied and 10% reported very dissatisfied. Post renovation, the museum satisfaction increased to 40% from 30% from past. Whereas, the dissatisfaction level reduced to 15%. There was a significant increase in very satisfied level accounting for 35%.

Overall, visitors post refurbishment increased significantly and the surveys reported for higher satisfactory levels.
