Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers all parts of the task, including the visitor numbers and the satisfaction survey data for both years. You have successfully identified the main trends, such as the increase in total visitors and the shift in satisfaction levels. However, the overview is slightly weak; while it mentions the increase in visitors and satisfaction, it could be more precise. For instance, stating 'almost one third' is vague when the data shows a clear shift from 15% to 35%. To improve, ensure your overview highlights the most significant changes rather than just general trends, and avoid minor inaccuracies like 'one third percent' when referring to 33% or 35%.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs covering the two time periods. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To begin with', 'However', and 'Moreover', which help the flow of information. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'where is it 10% and 5% continuously'. The referencing is generally clear, but the connection between sentences could be smoother to avoid a list-like feel. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring they are used in a more natural, sophisticated way would help elevate the score.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to convey the necessary information about percentages and visitor numbers. You use some topic-specific terms like 'refurbishment', 'survey', and 'dissatisfied'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and awkward phrasing, such as 'almost half of portion of tourist' and 'no response of visitor'. Additionally, there are some errors in word formation and collocation, such as 'continuously' used instead of 'respectively'. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensuring collocations are natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('number of tourist are increased'), incorrect tense usage ('visitors are visit'), and awkward sentence construction ('where is it 10% and 5% continuously'). Punctuation is generally functional, but the lack of articles and incorrect pluralization are consistent issues. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your verb tenses remain consistent throughout the report, especially when describing past data.
