Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the depth of the analysis. While you have identified the main features, such as the increase in visitor numbers and the shift in satisfaction levels, the report is underdeveloped. You have not fully utilized the data provided; for instance, the specific figures for 'very satisfied' or 'neutral' categories are missing. The summary is fragmented and lacks a comprehensive overview of the data trends. To improve, ensure you provide a more detailed breakdown of the figures and compare the two periods more systematically to fully address all parts of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay has a basic structure with an introduction and body paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes mechanical, such as the repetitive use of 'after refurbishing'. Paragraphing is present but the ideas within the paragraphs are not well-connected, making the flow disjointed. For example, the transition between the table data and the pie chart data is abrupt. To improve, use a wider variety of linking words and ensure each paragraph has a clear focus that contributes to the overall summary.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range expected for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'majorly' and 'high ratio', which are not ideal for academic reporting. There are also spelling errors such as 'Adhdown', 'Ater', and 'refurbhisment', which detract from the professional tone. To improve, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary, such as 'significant increase', 'proportion', or 'substantial growth', and ensure you proofread for spelling accuracy.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'the total number of visitors was seen majorly after the refurbishment' and '40 percent of people not satisfied'. There are also issues with article usage and sentence construction. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and ensure that your sentences are complete and grammatically sound. Practicing the use of passive voice for reporting data would also be beneficial for this type of task.
