Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the task achievement score. While you have identified the main trends—the increase in visitor numbers and the shift in satisfaction levels—the report is incomplete. The final sentence is cut off mid-thought ('proportion of st'), and the overall summary lacks a cohesive conclusion. To improve, ensure you provide a full overview of the data and complete all sentences. You have successfully highlighted the key figures, such as the rise from 74,000 to 92,000 visitors, but the lack of development and the incomplete nature of the text prevent a higher score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into short paragraphs, but the flow is interrupted by the incomplete final sentence and some mechanical transitions. While you use some cohesive devices like 'consequently' and 'subsequently', the logical progression is hindered by the abrupt ending. The paragraphing is present but feels disjointed due to the lack of a clear concluding summary. To improve, ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that your ideas flow logically from one to the next without abrupt stops. The referencing is generally clear, but the overall structure lacks the polish required for higher bands.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'refurbishment', 'proportion', and 'drastically'. However, there are some minor errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'Ashdowm' (a typo) and the awkward phrasing 'attitude of visitors have also been recorded'. The vocabulary is functional but lacks the sophistication or precision needed for a higher band. To improve, focus on using more varied collocations and ensuring accurate spelling. Avoid repetitive sentence structures and try to incorporate more specific academic vocabulary related to data description, such as 'witnessed a surge' or 'a notable shift'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

There are several grammatical errors, particularly regarding subject-verb agreement. For example, you wrote 'The number of visitors... have significantly increased' (should be 'has') and 'The percentage of dissatisfied visitors have decreased' (should be 'has'). These errors occur frequently throughout the text. While you attempt some complex sentence structures, the accuracy is inconsistent. The incomplete sentence at the end also negatively affects the grammatical assessment. To improve, pay closer attention to singular/plural agreement and ensure that all sentences are fully formed with a clear subject and predicate. Proofreading for basic grammatical consistency is essential.
