Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to address the task by summarizing the visitor numbers and satisfaction levels. However, it fails to provide a clear overview or highlight the most significant trends. The description of the data is often inaccurate or confusing, such as the claim that the museum was a 'historical place the maximum number of visitor'. The reporting of percentages is repetitive and lacks analytical comparison, merely listing figures rather than synthesizing the information. To improve, you should focus on identifying the main trends—such as the overall increase in visitor numbers and the shift toward higher satisfaction levels—and present these clearly in an introductory overview.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into short, somewhat disjointed paragraphs. While there is a basic attempt at logical progression, the lack of effective cohesive devices makes the text feel mechanical and repetitive. Phrases like 'First discuss about' are grammatically incorrect and do not serve as effective transitions. The referencing is often unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison between the two time periods. To improve, use a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'in contrast', 'subsequently', 'furthermore') and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, unified focus.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, relying heavily on basic terms like 'people', 'visit', and 'satisfied'. There are several instances of awkward word choice and incorrect collocations, such as 'historical things' instead of 'historical artifacts' and 'not any response' instead of 'no response'. The spelling error 'referbishment' occurs multiple times, which detracts from the professional tone required for an Academic Task 1 response. To achieve a higher band, you should aim to use more precise terminology related to data description, such as 'fluctuated', 'experienced a rise', or 'a significant proportion'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., '30% people satisfied'), incorrect tense usage, and awkward sentence structures (e.g., '10% person was not very dissatisfied before... nor 5% was after'). The range of structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences with errors in basic syntax. To improve, focus on mastering subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions. Additionally, try to incorporate more complex sentence structures, such as using relative clauses or subordinating conjunctions, while ensuring they are grammatically accurate.
