Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the ability to fully address the task. While you have identified the main trend regarding visitor numbers, the analysis is incomplete. You have not fully described the survey results, and the response ends abruptly mid-sentence. To improve, you must ensure all parts of the prompt are covered, including a clear overview and detailed comparisons of all data points provided in the charts. The current length is insufficient to develop the ideas required for a higher band score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response lacks a clear logical structure. While there is an attempt at an introduction and a summary, the paragraphing is underdeveloped due to the incomplete nature of the text. Cohesive devices are used sparingly (e.g., 'On the whole', 'furthermore'), but the flow is disrupted by the unfinished final sentence. To achieve a higher score, you should organize your response into distinct paragraphs: an introduction, an overview of the main trends, and two body paragraphs detailing specific data comparisons, ensuring each sentence connects logically to the next.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive. Phrases like 'visitors quantity' and 'make a big difference of visitors' are unnatural and imprecise. There are also minor errors such as 'the the' and 'epople'. To improve, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary to describe trends, such as 'the number of visitors rose significantly' rather than 'make a big difference'. Expanding your range of synonyms for 'increase', 'decrease', and 'satisfaction' will help you convey information more effectively and professionally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains several grammatical errors that hinder clarity. There are issues with article usage ('the renovations'), subject-verb agreement, and sentence structure. The final sentence is incomplete, which is a major issue for grammatical accuracy. You rely mostly on simple sentence structures; to improve, you should practice incorporating complex sentences using subordinating conjunctions (e.g., 'although', 'whereas', 'while') to compare the data. Proofreading for basic errors like capitalization and spelling is also essential to improve your overall accuracy.
