Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have successfully identified the main trends and provided a clear overview of the data. You covered both the table and the pie charts, making relevant comparisons between the two periods. However, there are some minor inaccuracies in your data reporting. For instance, you stated that 'very dissatisfied' and 'no response' together account for 5% each, whereas the chart indicates they account for 5% in total (2% and 3% respectively). Additionally, ensure you clearly distinguish between the categories when describing the 'before' and 'after' states to avoid ambiguity. Overall, the response is well-structured and addresses all parts of the task effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The response is logically organized, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a summary. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Overall', 'In addition', and 'Furthermore' to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that referencing is precise. For example, the transition between the table data and the pie chart data in the second paragraph is slightly abrupt. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different time periods, which helps the reader follow the progression of your argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the information clearly, using terms like 'distribution', 'dominant sector', and 'proportion'. There are some minor issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'visiting refurbishment' (which should be 'the refurbishment') and 'minor sector' (which is less natural than 'smallest category'). You also repeat the word 'contribution' several times, which limits the sophistication of your writing. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more varied synonyms for 'increase' and 'decrease' and ensure that your collocations are more precise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is generally effective. However, there are several grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. For example, 'the proportion for very satisfied with 15%' is grammatically incomplete, and 'the result of survey has changed' should be 'the results of the survey had changed'. There are also some issues with article usage and prepositional phrases. While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more careful proofreading and a greater focus on sentence-level accuracy to achieve a higher band.
