Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response covers the main features of the data, including the increase in visitor numbers and the shift in satisfaction levels. However, the analysis is somewhat mechanical and lacks a clear, analytical overview. While the key figures are mentioned, the comparison between the two periods is not fully developed. For instance, the description of the pie charts is slightly confusing, particularly the phrase 'satisfied were double than the satisfied visitors,' which is unclear. The response addresses the prompt but lacks the depth required for a higher band, as some data points are presented as a list rather than a cohesive summary.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'In addition to this visitor who were' and 'On the other hand the response of visitor' feel forced. The progression of ideas is sometimes hindered by awkward phrasing and repetitive sentence structures. While the overall arrangement is coherent enough to follow, the lack of sophisticated linking words and the occasional misuse of referencing (e.g., 'whose visitor which were') prevent a higher score.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision. There are several errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'tourists who do response' instead of 'respondents' or 'no response,' and 'redevelop' used as a noun. The student relies on basic descriptors like 'increased' and 'changed' repeatedly. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of variety and the presence of errors in word formation (e.g., 'refurbished' used as a noun) limit the score. To improve, the student should focus on using more precise terminology related to data reporting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the number of visitor increase'), incorrect pluralisation (e.g., 'percentage of satisfied visitor'), and awkward prepositional usage. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing commas and run-on sentences. While the meaning is usually understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the response from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would be beneficial.
