Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response covers the main features of the data, including the total visitor numbers and the satisfaction survey percentages. However, the presentation is somewhat mechanical and lacks a clear overview or summary of the trends. The description of the data is often repetitive, and the comparison between the two periods is hindered by awkward phrasing, such as 'before the changing in the museum'. While the key data points are included, the lack of a cohesive summary and the informal, fragmented style prevent a higher score. To improve, ensure you provide a clear introductory overview of the main trends before detailing specific figures.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical flow is weak. The use of cohesive devices is limited and often misused, such as 'in other after refurbished' or 'in last some individuals'. The progression of ideas is disjointed, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison between the two time periods. Referencing is often unclear, and the transition between the table data and the survey data is abrupt. To improve, use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus that connects logically to the next.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, relying heavily on the words provided in the prompt. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'individuals amount' instead of 'number of visitors' and 'give changing' instead of 'refurbishment'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express the data with precision. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to data description, such as 'increased significantly', 'remained stable', or 'a notable shift in opinion', and practice using these in context to avoid repetitive phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('The table illustrate'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, which obscures the intended meaning. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the control over basic grammar is inconsistent. For example, 'after some year they will change the museum' is grammatically incorrect and confusing. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions and articles, before attempting more complex structures.
