Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
You have identified the main trends, such as the increase in visitor numbers and the shift in satisfaction levels. However, the response lacks a clear overview and the data reporting is somewhat mechanical. While you mention the increase from 74,000 to 92,000, the description of the survey results is confusingly phrased, particularly the sentence 'after refurbishment more drops to visiting museum in 15%'. To improve, ensure you clearly distinguish between the two data sets (table and pie charts) and provide a more cohesive summary of the key changes rather than just listing figures.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow is hindered by awkward phrasing and a lack of effective cohesive devices. Transitions like 'In contract' (presumably meant to be 'In contrast') are used incorrectly. The referencing is often unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison between the two time periods. To improve, use a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'whereas', 'in comparison') and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that guides the reader through the data.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, relying heavily on basic terms like 'increase', 'people', and 'satisfied'. There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'mostly like to dissatisfied' and 'no response to people'. These errors occasionally impede the clarity of your message. To reach a higher band, you should incorporate more precise vocabulary related to data description, such as 'proportion', 'fluctuation', 'significant', or 'marginal', and focus on using these words in their correct collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that affect readability. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'The table provide', 'number of visitors are visiting'), incorrect preposition usage, and awkward sentence structures. You rely almost exclusively on simple sentences, which limits your ability to express complex comparisons. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles. Additionally, try to incorporate more complex sentence structures, such as using relative clauses or subordinating conjunctions, to improve the flow and sophistication of your writing.
