Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response covers all parts of the task, providing a clear overview and highlighting key data points from both the table and the charts. You successfully identified the main trends, such as the increase in visitor numbers and the shift in satisfaction levels. However, the analysis could be improved by ensuring all data points are accurately described. For example, you mention 'very satisfied' twice in the final paragraph but seem to be referring to different categories (likely 'very satisfied' and 'satisfied'), which creates some confusion. Overall, the information is well-selected, and the comparisons between the two periods are relevant and clearly presented.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. The progression of ideas is easy to follow. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'Overall', 'Regarding', and 'On the other hand', which help to structure the response. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing, such as the repetitive use of 'visitor' without clear pluralization or articles. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the visitor numbers from the satisfaction survey results, which aids readability.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the trends, using effective verbs like 'soar', 'nosedive', 'surged', and 'plummeted'. There are, however, some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation. For instance, 'the dissatisfied visitor accounted for' should be 'the proportion of dissatisfied visitors', and 'the figure nosedive' is grammatically incorrect (should be 'nosedived'). Additionally, there is a lack of pluralization in phrases like 'satisfied visitor' and 'very satisfied visitor', which affects the precision of your writing. Despite these errors, the meaning remains clear throughout.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly regarding articles ('the year before', 'the dissatisfied visitor') and subject-verb agreement ('the total number of visitors went' should be 'the total number of visitors who went'). Some sentences are slightly awkward, such as 'the dissatisfied visitor recorded highest proportion at 40', which lacks necessary articles and prepositions. These errors do not impede communication, but they do prevent the response from reaching a higher band for grammatical accuracy.
