Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response attempts to address the task by summarizing the visitor numbers and satisfaction levels. However, the data interpretation is inaccurate and confusing. For instance, the student mentions '74000' and '9200', which do not clearly align with standard data reporting conventions, and the description of the satisfaction categories is fragmented. The response fails to provide a clear overview or highlight the most significant trends, such as the increase in visitor numbers and the shift in satisfaction levels post-refurbishment. The information is presented in a way that makes it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison between the two periods.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The essay lacks a logical structure. While there are paragraphs, the progression of ideas is disjointed. Cohesive devices are either missing or used incorrectly, such as 'In first chart' and 'In second chart', which are used mechanically rather than to build a coherent argument. The final paragraph attempts a summary but fails to synthesize the information effectively. The lack of clear referencing and the repetitive nature of the sentences make the text difficult to follow, resulting in a lack of overall flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary is very limited and often inaccurate. Phrases like 'five favour are there' and 'rest of the three are very good in number' are not appropriate for an academic report. The student struggles to use precise terminology related to data description, such as 'increase', 'decline', 'proportion', or 'segment'. There is significant repetition of basic words, and the lack of control over word choice frequently impedes the reader's understanding of the data being presented.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The grammatical control is weak, with frequent errors that often distort meaning. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'In second chart gives'), missing articles, and awkward sentence structures (e.g., 'before year 74000 number of visitors visited'). The response relies almost entirely on simple sentences, and attempts at more complex structures are unsuccessful and grammatically incorrect. Punctuation is also inconsistent, which further hinders the clarity of the writing.
