Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response effectively addresses all parts of the task. You have successfully identified the main features, such as the surge in visitor numbers from 74,000 to 92,000 and the significant shift in satisfaction levels. The overview is clear and provides a good summary of the trends. You have made relevant comparisons between the two periods, noting both the increase in positive feedback and the decrease in negative sentiment. The data is accurately reported, and the structure allows for a logical comparison of the 'before' and 'after' states. To reach a higher band, ensure that all data points are integrated into the narrative flow rather than just listing them.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The response is logically organized with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. You use a range of cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'Conversely', and 'On the other hand' to link ideas effectively. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the overview from the detailed analysis. However, there are minor issues with punctuation and flow, such as the unnecessary period after 'refurbishment' in the first paragraph and the slightly awkward phrasing in the final sentence. Overall, the progression of information is clear and easy to follow throughout the report.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate a good range of vocabulary, using terms like 'surged', 'markedly', 'comprised', and 'striking change' to describe the data. This shows an attempt to use less common lexical items. There are a few minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'the the' (repetition) and 'individuals who shows' (subject-verb agreement error affecting lexical accuracy). Additionally, 'no respondents represented a mere at 5%' is slightly awkward. Despite these minor slips, the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the information with precision and flexibility.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this task. There are several grammatical errors that slightly detract from the quality, such as 'the the' (repetition), 'satisfied visitors followed closely at 30%, with very satisfied accounted for' (incorrect verb form), and 'individuals who shows' (subject-verb agreement). While these errors are noticeable, they do not impede communication or cause confusion for the reader. To improve, focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and ensuring that participial phrases are used correctly.
