Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have successfully identified the main features of the data, including the increase in visitor numbers and the shift in satisfaction levels. You provided clear comparisons between the two periods, which is essential for Task 1. However, the response is quite brief, and the final sentence, 'it osw positive impact overall', is fragmented and lacks the necessary detail to conclude the report effectively. To reach a higher band, ensure that all data points are fully integrated into the analysis rather than just listing them, and avoid incomplete sentences at the end of your response.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The response is logically organized, moving from an overview to specific data points. You used some cohesive devices such as 'By contrast' and 'Regarding', which help the flow of information. However, the lack of paragraphing makes the text feel dense and less professional. Dividing your response into an introduction/overview paragraph and a body paragraph detailing the specific data would significantly improve the structure. Additionally, ensure that your sentences are fully connected to maintain a smooth progression of ideas throughout the report.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the main points, such as 'considerably', 'significantly', and 'proportion'. However, there are some spelling errors, such as 'recieved' (received) and 'incresed' (increased), which detract from the overall quality. To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary related to data trends, such as 'fluctuated', 'remained stable', or 'accounted for'. While your current vocabulary is adequate for the task, focusing on accuracy and slightly more sophisticated collocations will help you achieve a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
Your sentence structures are generally clear, but there is a lack of variety in complex grammatical forms. You rely mostly on simple and compound sentences. There are also punctuation issues, such as missing commas after introductory phrases and a lack of capitalization at the start of the final sentence. The final sentence is also grammatically incomplete. To improve, practice using a wider variety of complex structures, such as relative clauses or passive voice, and ensure that your proofreading catches basic errors in punctuation and sentence completion.
