Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to cover the main features of the table and charts, but the reporting of data is often inaccurate or confusing. For instance, the statement 'more than 18000 in last year' does not clearly reflect the data provided, and the description of survey results is disjointed. The comparison between the two periods is attempted, but the lack of clarity in data presentation makes it difficult for the reader to follow the trends. Key features, such as the significant increase in visitor numbers, are mentioned but not effectively highlighted or supported by accurate data points. The response lacks a clear overview of the most significant changes.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. While some cohesive devices are used, such as 'Overall' and 'At the first glance', they are often used incorrectly or in a way that does not improve the flow of ideas. The transition between the table data and the survey results is abrupt. Referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult to determine which data point the writer is referring to. The structure is mechanical, and the lack of clear signposting between the two distinct sets of data (table vs. charts) hinders the overall coherence of the report.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary range is limited and often inaccurate. There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'travelers' instead of 'visitors', 'explore' instead of 'experience', and 'initial refurbishment' which is used confusingly. The phrasing 'less numbers were in no response' is unnatural. The student relies on basic vocabulary and struggles to use precise terminology to describe statistical trends or survey categories. While the meaning is generally discernible, the lack of precision and the repetitive nature of the language prevent a higher score in this criterion.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'The bar graph illustrate'), incorrect preposition use, and awkward sentence structures. Complex sentence attempts are often faulty, such as 'While, the minimum numbers of result of survey was very dissatisfied.' Punctuation is inconsistent, and there are errors in article usage throughout the text. The range of structures is limited, and the errors are frequent enough to cause some difficulty for the reader, although the basic message remains understandable.
