Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The student covers the main features of the task, correctly reporting the total visitor numbers (74,000 before and 92,000 after) and noting the overall increase. They also attempt to describe the survey results for satisfaction levels, mentioning the shifts in percentages or numbers (e.g., 'very satisfied' increasing from 15 to 35). However, there are some inaccuracies in reporting the data (referring to percentages as absolute numbers of visitors, such as 'are 15 which is increased to 35'). An overview is present, though it is slightly underdeveloped and placed at the beginning rather than synthesising the main trends effectively. Overall, the response addresses the prompt reasonably well but contains minor inaccuracies in data interpretation.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement and attempts to organise information logically into introduction, body, and conclusion paragraphs. However, paragraphing is underdeveloped, and some sentences are fragmented (e.g., starting a paragraph with 'When talking about the another picture...'). Cohesive devices are used, but sometimes mechanically or awkwardly (e.g., 'Lets talk about very satisfied...'). Referencing is occasionally unclear, and transitions between ideas lack smoothness. While the general structure is coherent enough to follow, the mechanics of cohesion and paragraphing need more sophistication to reach a higher band.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the student to communicate basic comparisons and trends (e.g., 'refurbishment', 'increased', 'decreased', 'unchanged'). However, the range is limited, and there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'graps' instead of graphs, 'visitos' instead of visitors, and 'another picture' instead of charts. Attempts to use less common vocabulary are basic, and some phrasing is repetitive or unnatural ('The visitor who choose dissatisfied ans very dissatisfied'). These lexical limitations and errors restrict the score to this level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but grammatical control is weak. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement and article usage (e.g., 'The graps shows', 'the number of visitos... increases', 'the satisfaction is categorized in 5 types'). Punctuation and spelling errors are also present throughout the text. While some sentences are clear enough to convey meaning without impeding communication, the high frequency of basic grammatical errors prevents the response from achieving a higher score.
