Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.5
The student attempts to address the task by mentioning visitor numbers (74,000 and 92,000) and referencing the satisfaction survey results. However, the data is often misread or confused, such as stating that '30% to 40% visitors were a lot of disagrre very dissatisfied' when the chart shows distinct categories. The overview is extremely weak, repetitive, and fails to clearly highlight the main trends, such as the overall increase in visitor numbers and the shift toward higher satisfaction levels after refurbishment. Ideas are underdeveloped and lack clear reporting of the visual data. This corresponds to a Band 4.5 level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.5
The response shows severe deficiencies in organisation and cohesion. The text is broken into short, fragmented paragraphs with awkward transitional phrases such as 'Firstly we will talk about' and 'On the other hand, we will disscuss and debate'. Logical progression is frequently interrupted by confusing sequencing and repetitive phrasing. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal structure of the paragraphs lacks logical flow, making the overall message difficult to follow. Referencing is unclear throughout, leading to a Band 4.5 performance.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
Vocabulary is extremely limited and repetitious. The student frequently misuses words, such as 'numberous of tourisum', 'reparing', 'tourisom were disagreed', and 'respose'. There is an inability to control basic word forms, and spelling errors are common (e.g., 'noticeble', 'duration of yearrs', 'disagrre'). The range of vocabulary is inadequate for a task of this type, struggling to convey precise meanings about statistical data, placing it firmly at a Band 4.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
Grammatical control is weak throughout the response. The student relies on simple sentence structures, and attempts at more complex sentences result in severe errors and ungrammatical fragments, such as 'there were 5% people were have no response' and 'they was have no respose'. Tense usage is inconsistent, and punctuation is faulty. Errors occur constantly and frequently impede the reader's understanding of the text. This performance aligns with Band 4.0.
