Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The student attempts to cover all parts of the task by reporting the visitor numbers and the survey results for both periods. Key data points are mentioned, such as the initial 74,000 visitors, the rise to 92,000, and various satisfaction percentages. However, there are significant inaccuracies in data reporting and interpretation. For example, the student writes that 'the percentage of very satisfied visitors were 15% which are almost not too much' and states an absurd figure of '9200%' for the increase. Furthermore, there is a lack of a clear overall trend summary, and the mechanical listing of percentages shows a lack of selection and synthesis of main features. This performance aligns with Band 5.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response is divided into three paragraphs, providing a basic framework for introduction, the first period, and the second period. However, the overall progression is weak and jerky due to abrupt transitions and confusing sentences like 'Conducted survey of visitors how much they were satisfied before and after year.' Cohesive devices are either missing or misused, with repetitive referencing structures such as 'The given results of year before renovation' and 'Total ratio of visitors'. Paragraphing is attempted, but ideas within paragraphs lack smooth logical linking, which impedes the reader's flow. This corresponds to Band 5.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is very basic and repetitive, frequently relying on simple terms like 'visitors', 'satisfied', and 'renovation'. There are noticeable word choice and collocation errors, such as 'before and after renovate' instead of 'before and after renovation', and 'number's of visitors' with an incorrect apostrophe. The misuse of scale and percentage terms ('9200%', 'highly ratio') further restricts the precision of the response. The lexical range is minimally adequate to convey basic points about the chart, but errors cause some difficulty. This fits Band 5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The student demonstrates a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with frequent structural errors. Examples of severe grammatical inaccuracies include 'This table illustrate number' (subject-verb agreement), 'Conducted survey of visitors how much they were satisfied' (incomplete and ungrammatical clause structure), and 'Those peoples shows no interest' (missing relative pronoun/tense error). Plural forms are incorrectly handled ('peoples', 'number's'). Errors are frequent throughout the text and frequently impede clear communication, placing this at Band 4.0.
