Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response covers the main data points provided in the visual prompt, noting the visitor numbers (74,000 before and 92,000 after) and the survey percentages for satisfaction levels. However, the tone and format are overly conversational and inappropriate for an Academic Task 1 report (e.g., using conversational filler like 'Now i'll show you'). While the key data points are presented, the overview is weak, and the presentation lacks the formal structure and objective register expected at Band 5.0. Data selection is partially accurate, but the overall report structure fails to maintain an appropriate academic standard.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The text suffers from poor organization and a lack of proper paragraphing, grouping most of the description into one dense and messy block of text alongside a conversational conclusion. Cohesive devices are very basic, repetitive, and mechanical (e.g., repeating 'Now i'll show you' and 'Firstly i'll show you'). The progression of ideas is disjointed, and referencing between sentences is often unclear, meeting the descriptors for a Band 4.0 where information is not arranged coherently and cohesive devices are inadequate.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is very basic and repetitive, frequently relying on simple words like 'people', 'visitors', 'museum', and 'maintanance'. There are numerous spelling errors throughout the text, such as 'suryes' for surveys, 'refurbuishment' for refurbishment, 'maintanance' for maintenance, and 'vistis' for visited. Attempted less-common vocabulary is absent, and word choices are often inappropriate or unnatural (e.g., 'visitorsw are just agree', 'too much happy'). This performance aligns with Band 4.0 criteria.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The response contains a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with frequent basic errors. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('The chart show', 'There are 15% people are'), tense consistency, and punctuation (lack of spaces after commas and periods). Complex structures are rarely attempted and are inaccurate when used. Grammatical errors are frequent and occasionally impede readability, which places the writing firmly at Band 4.0.
