Student answer (Band 6.0)
The tabular representation illustrates information regarding the number of visitors who visited Ashdown museum before and after refurbishment. The table compares the satisfaction level of visitors and how satisfied they were with their visit, during the same two periods.
Overall, It is observed from surveys that more than half of visitors were satisfied due to which number of tourists after refurbishment increased significantly.
On an average 74,000 tourists visited Ashdown museum before renovation but the figure climbed after refurbishment and it recorded a rise of 18,000. Moreover, after surveys it was witnessed that 40% of people were dissatisfied and 10% were very dissatisfied. However, the number was low regarding there satisfaction level, only 15% were very satisfied and 30% of them were just satisfied. Unfortunately, 5% of them did not pass any comments.
After refurbishment, quite impressive 75% of tourist were satisfied and again 5% people did not give any reviews about museum after refurbishment. Just 15% were dissatisfied and remaining percentage was very dissatisfied.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The student attempts to cover both the table and the satisfaction charts, noting the visitor numbers (74,000 rising to 92,000) and outlining satisfaction percentages. However, there are notable inaccuracies in reading the data: the student states that '40% of people were dissatisfied and 10% were very dissatisfied' for the period before refurbishment, whereas the chart shows 40% dissatisfied and 10% very dissatisfied (which is accurate), but mischaracterises the combined positive satisfaction as being lower than it was. Furthermore, the overview mentions that 'more than half of visitors were satisfied due to which number of tourists after refurbishment increased significantly', which is slightly confused in its causality and expression. The response addresses the main features generally, but the data reporting contains minor imprecisions, placing it at a Band 6.0 level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The response is structured into four paragraphs, including an introduction, an overview, and separate body paragraphs for the periods before and after refurbishment. Cohesive devices are attempted ('Overall', 'Moreover', 'However', 'After refurbishment'), though some are used mechanically or awkwardly, such as 'regarding there satisfaction level' and 'remaining percentage was very dissatisfied' instead of specifying the exact figure (5%). Paragraphing is logical, grouping the background and table data in the opening and body sections, and the survey data split by time period. Progression is generally clear, earning a Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate vocabulary range for the task, attempting functional terms such as 'tabular representation', 'refurbishment', and 'climbed'. However, there are notable word choice and collocation errors, such as 'did not pass any comments' instead of 'gave no response', and a spelling/grammatical confusion with 'there satisfaction level' (instead of 'their'). While less common vocabulary is attempted, inaccuracies in phrasing keep this criterion at a Band 5.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as 'The tabular representation illustrates information regarding the number of visitors who visited Ashdown museum before and after refurbishment.' However, grammatical errors occur throughout the text, including punctuation and article omissions ('more than half of visitors', 'museum after refurbishment', 'quite impressive 75% of tourist'). There are also awkward clauses like 'due to which number of tourists after refurbishment increased significantly'. These errors do not completely impede communication, but they occur frequently enough to warrant a Band 5.5.
