Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response is severely under-length, containing only 73 words compared to the required 150 words. Because of this, it fails to fully summarise the main features and comparisons shown in the visual data. While the student correctly mentions the overall visitor numbers (74,000 before and 92,000 after) and touches upon the change in satisfaction levels, the information is extremely limited, disjointed, and incomplete. Important survey categories and detailed comparative trends are omitted due to the lack of development. As a direct result of the severe under-length and incomplete coverage, the task achievement score is limited to Band 4.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The text is broken into very short, disconnected paragraphs that lack logical progression and development. Cohesive devices are either missing or misused, such as the unnatural transition 'At a glace' and the abrupt shift between sentences without proper linking. Paragraphing is inadequate for an academic report, as the text consists of isolated single-sentence paragraphs. Referencing is unclear, making it difficult to follow the logical flow of ideas. Overall, the structural organisation is weak and fails to meet the expectations of Coherence and Cohesion at higher bands.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
The vocabulary used is basic, repetitive, and often unnatural or inaccurate. Examples include 'touristors', 'counting of museum lover', and 'museum happened'. Phrasing such as 'view point had been changed' demonstrates a limited lexical range and poor collocation. While the writer attempts to use some task-related terms like 'refurbishment' and 'visitors', the frequent lexical errors and word-formation issues significantly strain the reader and restrict the lexical score to Band 4.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The response displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, consisting mostly of simple or flawed complex sentences. There are frequent grammatical errors, such as missing articles, incorrect prepositions, and awkward phrasing ('Before people were dissatisfied; later, view point had been changed'). Punctuation and spacing errors are also present (e.g., missing spaces after commas and periods, as seen in 'refurbishment, however'). These errors frequently impede communication and reflect weak grammatical control.
