Student answer (Band 5.5)
The table illustrates the figurated values of visitors during the year before and the year after the Ashdown Museum was refurbished.
Substantially, the number of people visitng the Ashdown Museum before its development was estimated to 74 thousand, however, those who visited after the refurbishment were just about 92 thousand.
The information is given, provided the level of satisfaction among the individual stepping into the museum before and after the years of renovation.
Detailed study has been made, regarding the Ashdown Museum, using statistical results shown in the survey. The adequacy of visitors is about 15, who are greatly influenced by the museum before its reconstruction. Below these were the mediocre ones who found satisfactory, were about 30. Those who disliked the experience were calculated as 40 individuals, followed by the very unsatisfied with the number of 10. Additionally, 5 out of total did not take part in the feedback mechanism.
On the other hand, the survey outlooks the period after refurbishment, scoring about 35 persons as deeply pleased, while 40 were quite convinced by the approach. Contrary to this, 15 people had some negative viewpoints, also 5 felt resentful while 5 had no interest in responding to before and after the redesignation.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The student successfully reports the main data points from both the table and the charts, noting the overall visitor numbers (74,000 rising to 92,000) and describing the shift in satisfaction ratings between the two periods. However, the interpretation of the survey figures is slightly imprecise in places, such as describing the number of respondents as 'about 15' instead of treating them as percentages from a survey, and using unusual terminology like 'adequacy of visitors'. Despite these minor flaws in data interpretation, all parts of the prompt are addressed, and a clear overview of the main features is provided.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response is organized into distinct paragraphs, attempting to separate the table data from the survey charts. However, the logical progression is hindered by awkward transitions and confusing sentence structures, such as 'Detailed study has been made...'. Cohesive devices like 'On the other hand' and 'Contrary to this' are used, but referencing is occasionally unclear (e.g., 'to before and after the redesignation'). Paragraphing is present, but overall cohesion feels mechanical rather than completely fluid.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'refurbished', 'redesignation', and 'resentful', but these are frequently combined with unnatural collocations or word choices, such as 'figurated values', 'adequacy of visitors', and 'mediocre ones'. There are noticeable errors in word formation and phrasing that require the reader to re-read sentences, though communication is generally maintained. Spelling is largely accurate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar is inconsistent. There are several awkward phrasing patterns and structural errors, such as 'number of people visitng... was estimated to 74 thousand' (incorrect preposition and spelling) and 'found satisfactory, were about 30' (missing subject/object). While punctuation is mostly acceptable, frequent grammatical errors and clunky syntax restrict the score to a Band 5.5.
