IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The table below shows the numbers of visitors to Ashdown Museum during the year before and the year after it was refurbished. The charts show the result of surveys asking visitors how satisfied they were with their visit, during the same two periods.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The provided table shows the number of visitors, visited the museum before it was refurbished and after it was refurbished. Pie charts also given, which illustrate the results of the surveys asking visitors how they liked the museum before and after it refurbished.

Overall, the number of visitors tremendously increased after its refurbished. Mostly, Visitors showed great satisfaction in the surveys. However, a few were still disappointed, and a other few chose to give no response to the surveys.

While, The visitors who were satisfied and very satisfied were 30 and 15 percent respectively before it was refurbished, the proportion remarkably increased to 40% and 35% respectively later. However, the ratio of the dissatisfied visitors dramatically reduced to 15 percent from 40 percent.

The proportion of visitors who were very dissatisfied decreased slightly to 5, which was previously 10%. However, no changes were observed in the percentage of visitors who gave no response, it remained stable at 5%.
