The table below shows the numbers of visitors to Ashdown Museum during the year before and the year after it was refurbished. The charts show the result of surveys asking visitors how satisfied they were with their visit, during the same two periods.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Overall, the museum experienced a significant increase in visitor numbers following its refurbishment. At the same time, visitor satisfaction improved considerably, with the proportion of people who were very satisfied or satisfied rising substantially, while dissatisfaction declined.
Before the refurbishment, Ashdown Museum received 74,000 visitors. This figure increased to 92,000 in the following year, representing a rise of approximately 18,000 visitors.
The survey results show an even more notable improvement in visitors’ opinions. Before the refurbishment, only 15% of visitors were very satisfied, while 30% were satisfied. By contrast, these figures rose to 35% and 40% respectively after the work was completed. Consequently, the combined proportion of satisfied and very satisfied visitors increased from 45% to 75%.
In contrast, the proportion of visitors who were dissatisfied fell from 10% to 5%, while those who were very dissatisfied decreased more substantially, from 15% to just 5%. The percentage of visitors who gave a neutral response also declined, from 30% to 15%.
