The table below shows the numbers of visitors to Ashdown Museum during the year before and the year after it was refurbished. The charts show the result of surveys asking visitors how satisfied they were with their visit, during the same two periods.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The table shows the total number of visitors to Ashdown Museum in the year before and the year after its refurbishment, while the pie charts illustrate visitors’ levels of satisfaction during the same periods.

Overall, the museum experienced a significant increase in visitor numbers after the refurbishment. In addition, visitor satisfaction improved considerably, with the proportions of satisfied and very satisfied visitors rising, while dissatisfaction declined.

Before the refurbishment, the museum attracted 74,000 visitors, compared with 92,000 in the following year, representing an increase of 18,000 visitors. In terms of satisfaction, 40% of visitors were dissatisfied and a further 10% were very dissatisfied. By contrast, 30% were satisfied and 15% were very satisfied. The remaining 5% gave no response.

After the refurbishment, the proportion of very satisfied visitors more than doubled, rising from 15% to 35%, while the percentage who were satisfied increased from 30% to 40%. Consequently, the combined proportion of satisfied visitors reached 75%. Meanwhile, dissatisfaction fell substantially, from 40% to 15%, and the proportion who were very dissatisfied halved from 10% to 5%. The percentage giving no response remained unchanged at 5%.
