The pie chart illustrates the vital information, about the visitors of Ashdown Museum during the before and the after it was refurbished and the chart shows the user's satisfaction level before and after refurbished.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response attempts to cover the main features of the visual data, noting the visitor numbers before and after refurbishment (74,000 to 92,000) and outlining shifts in survey satisfaction levels. However, there are some inaccurate interpretations of the data, such as stating 'dissatisfied visitors declines by 25%' and confusing the final trends in the concluding paragraph ('Dissatisfied overtook Satisfied'). Crucially, the response falls short of the 150-word minimum, containing only 134 words. This under-length impacts the overall development and completeness of the task. Consequently, Task Achievement is penalised for insufficient length and inaccurate data reporting.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay is divided into four short paragraphs, attempting an introduction, an overview, and body details. However, the logical progression is flawed due to confusing data interpretation and abrupt transitions. While some cohesive devices are used (e.g., 'Overall', 'While', 'Meanwhile'), referencing is occasionally unclear ('through the period', 'users of the Ashdown Museum'). Paragraphing is visually present, but the overall structure feels disjointed and lacks a cohesive flow, leading to a Band 5.5 performance in this criterion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for basic communication but contains several inappropriate word choices and spelling errors (e.g., 'evidant', 'rennovation', 'Satifaction', 'relative' instead of 'relatively'). There are attempts to use less common vocabulary ('significant growth', 'highlighting a clear shift'), but these are undermined by repetitive structures and lexical inaccuracies. The range of vocabulary is limited and restricts the student to a Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The text displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar is inconsistent. There are frequent grammatical errors, such as missing prepositions or incorrect verb forms ('visitors before refurbished are Seventy-four thousands', 'Very dissatisfied user's will decrease', 'user's steady rise'). Punctuation and article usage also show frequent inaccuracies. These errors occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, placing the grammar performance firmly in the Band 5.0 range.
