Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response successfully covers all parts of the prompt by presenting the visitor numbers and the survey results for both periods. The main features are identified, such as the overall rise in attendance from 74,000 to 92,000, and comparisons are made between the two years. However, some parts are addressed more fully than others; for instance, the description of satisfaction categories is somewhat confusingly expressed as "satisfication level before the upgration was only 35% compared to this dissatisfication level is high up to 40%," which slightly misinterprets the combined positive ratings. The overview attempts to capture the main trends, but the lack of clarity in how data points are presented means certain ideas remain underdeveloped or imprecise, keeping the response at this level.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response presents a coherent overall arrangement with paragraphs used to group related information, such as visitor numbers and survey percentages. However, the logical progression is sometimes hindered by awkward transitions like "On the one hand" and "while on the other hand," which are used mechanically and do not accurately frame contrasting arguments in a data task. Referencing and referencing links can be unclear, such as "common thing before and after the refurbishment is response from the audience is the same," which disrupts the flow of information. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal structuring of sentences lacks smooth cohesive ties, creating a slightly disjointed reading experience.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate to communicate the basic meaning of the charts, attempting some less common items such as "refurbishment," "renovation," and "satisfication." However, there are frequent noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and word forms, such as "porportion" instead of proportion, "Musesum" instead of museum, "upgration" instead of upgrade or upgrading, "resorted" instead of restoration, and the repeated misspelling of "satisfication" instead of satisfaction. While these lexical slips and inaccuracies do not completely impede communication, they restrict the vocabulary range and prevent the response from achieving a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over basic structures. However, there is a limited range of accurate complex structures, and frequent errors in grammar and punctuation appear throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ("The table illustrate"), incorrect prepositions and article usage ("visit to the museum before the renovation"), and faulty clause structures ("while after the redesigning of this museum increased the amount of the visitors up to 92,000"). Punctuation errors, such as missing spaces after full stops, also occur. These frequent errors occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, though meaning can generally still be deciphered.
